Hockey is a sport that is becoming more attractive to children from all ages. Most High Schools offer Field hockey as an extracurricular activity, but it seems to be neglected in the primary schools. We have been involved with hockey and hockey training for the past 15 years and offer a service that will enable players to learn how to enjoy hockey, be part of team, develop and grow their hockey skills and get them ready for school and provincial trials or club leagues.
Hockey is a way for children to stay fit and be active while having fun. We believe that a healthy body hosts a healthy mind and that hockey enables children to develop mentally (through the learning of fast thinking skills) and physically (by developing skills like hand eye coordination).
Training at Hooked on Hockey takes place throughout the year and is not just seasonal. We open when school starts in the beginning of each year and close in December. The club runs through holidays and are only closed over long weekends and the odd weekend every now and again. During the season our U13 to U17 players take part in the Friday Night League in order to allow the players to take what they learn and implement it and for the U5 to U13 players there are festivals and tournaments on Saturdays.
Practice take place every week at Edenvale High School unless otherwise arranged (times and venue may change with prior arrangement).
Many a parent has come to us over the years to share how Hooked on Hockey have changed their children’s general attitude, how they have physically got stronger, their concentration span has increased and how they have grown from being insecure to becoming someone who fights for their rights.
Allow your child the opportunity to grow and improve his or her hockey skills and become the player they have always dreamt of becoming by joining our hockey family. Why……?
Because we are ……HOOKED ON HOCKEY!!
